Bronx Beer Hall, beer

1
Bronx Beer Hall

2344 Arthur Ave.

A Brooklyn-style craft-brew oasis in the middle of the bustling Arthur Avenue Retail Market, this is the place to sample local quaffs—frosty beverages from the likes of Gun Hill Brewing Co. and Third Rail Beer.

Mike's Deli

2344 Arthur Ave.

It’s a first-rate spot for traditional cold cuts and sandwiches, but don’t let the name fool you: Mike’s is also a great spot for hearty entrées, and the lasagna is a must-try.

Marios Restaurant

3
Mario's

2342 Arthur Ave.

Overseen for nearly a century by five generations of one family, this trattoria is one of the City’s premier spots for traditional Neapolitan fare, and an Arthur Avenue mainstay. The lobster ravioli is not to be missed.

Calabria pork store

Calabria Pork Store

2338 Arthur Ave.

True meat heads (sorry) rely on this traditional Italian butcher shop for sandwich staples and antipasti. (Dig the salamis hanging from the ceiling!) Essential: the extra-hot soppressata.

Artusi, interior

Artuso Pastry Shop

670 E 187th St

All manner of classic Italian sweets fill the cases at this bakery, family-run since the middle of the previous century. If you’re in the mood for sugar rush, we recommend the airy, creamy cannoli layer cake.

Randazzo's Seafood

2327 Arthur Ave.

No food-shopping trip to Arthur Avenue would be complete without a stop at this destination for fresh fish. When’s the best day to visit? Every single one: the catch comes in daily.

7
Arthur Avenue Retail Market

2344 Arthur Ave

This covered market has been open for eight decades and still offers the best Italian-food shopping in NYC. While you’re there, visit the assortment of butchers, bakers and pasta-makers—as well as salumi specialist Mike’s Deli. Be sure to plan a stop at the Bronx Beer Hall to relax at the end of the day.

Borgatti’s Ravioli & Egg Noodles

632 E. 187th St.

Family owned and operated since 1935, this pasta store makes fresh Italian delicacies that have been featured on the Food Network. Look for their ravioli special, which changes regularly.

Casa Della Mozzarella

Casa Della Mozzarella

604 E. 187th St.

This Italian specialty store whips up its own hand-pulled mozzarella, sold in large and bite-size balls. They have a wide selection of other cheeses, too, along with Italian deli meats and sweets.

Madonia Brothers Bakery

2348 Arthur Ave

You’ll find a range of sweet and savory baked goods at this family operation that’s been running for generations. Try some cannoli—which they fill on the spot—while you wait for the rest of your order.

11
Catania’s Pizzeria and Café

2307 Arthur Ave.

This old-school pizzeria is an authority on New York–style slices; they’ve been serving them up since 1949. Traditional pizzas, calzones and lasagna are the stars.

Coffee house

12
Prince Coffee House

2306 Arthur Ave

One of the neighborhood’s newer businesses, this café draws locals and visitors for fresh pastries, specialty coffees and Instagram-worthy decor.

Arthur Avenue

13
Calandra’s Cheese

2314 Arthur Avenue

If there’s one food you shouldn’t miss in the Bronx’s Little Italy, it’s cheese. Calandra’s has an impressive roster, including burrata, burrino and caciocavallo, and they make mozzarella and ricotta fresh daily.
