Coney Island History Project

Description

Founded in 2004, the Coney Island History Project exhaustively documents the history of the neighborhood and the people who have lived in it, through photography, displays of posters and other artifacts. The Project also collects and archives oral history interviews—which visitors can both listen to and record—and maintains the Coney Island Hall of Fame, which is devoted to honoring the achievements of local leaders and heroes. The exhibit center is open Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, free of charge, from Memorial Day Weekend thru Labor Day, and is available for private visits by groups throughtout the rest of the year.
