For those intimidated by the sometimes stuffy buying experience at traditional galleries—or for those looking for contemporary work by up-and-coming artists—try Raandesk. Jessica L. Porter opened her small gallery in 2005 with the goal of helping her customers. Raandesk has both an in-person and online gallery, with an art rental program, kids events and a purchasing service called ART2Gift, which offers assistance to customers buying art between $35 and $500. The gallery sells work across a variety of mediums, and with all the help along the way, customers are sure to leave happy.
