Bill's

Out of Business

Description

Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. An honest-to-goodness speakeasy, Bill’s is about as old-timey as it gets for New York piano bars; the name outside reads Bill’s Gay Nineties, and that’s not so far off, as the place has been in business since 1924. The time-warped bar is appropriate for drinking hard liquors and singing along to the piano players who entertain nightly. There’s a full menu that befits its masculine, steakhouse-style decor, where the walls are adorned with ephemera of American history.
