Description
A converted clothing factory serves as both the location and the inspiration for this Garment District lounge (the name comes from a children’s clothier that operated in the space from the 1930s to the ’50s). The subterranean piano bar, decorated in plush red velvet, fringe and printed wall paper, aims to evoke a tailor’s vintage fitting room—which it once was. At the bar, constructed from the drawers of a tailor’s drafting table, cocktails include old-school highballs (whiskey and ginger, scotch and soda) and inventive tiki drinks like the Four Pocket Waistcoat, with mezcal, sherry, blackberry and mint.
