From the folks who brought you GalleryBar and Plan B, Ella is a highly art-directed lounge with throwback cocktails and a jazz-age ambience in the former location of Julep. With the upstairs cocktail lounge and the downstairs piano bar featuring both DJs and live performers (all surrounded by stunning old-Hollywood glamour), it’s something a little different from the average East Village dive. A New York City nightclub pedigree surely helps (co-owner Darin Rubell is cousin to Studio 54’s Steve).
