Description
This cozy haunt draws inspiration from the Japanese port town restaurants of the late 19th-century Meiji period, incorporating elements of the East (Chinese ramen) and the West (cocktails). Judging by the low lighting and rustic-chic decor, the bar is equally indebted to hidden Manhattan cocktail dens downtown. Drinks are named simply and presented theatrically: the Nightcap is served aflame in a teacup; the Cucumber arrives in a chilled bell pepper. Four varieties of ramen make up the bulk of the food menu, which also offers snacks like oysters, karaage chicken, edamame and pork buns.
