Rebel

Out of Business

Description

Tucked away on a rather grungy stretch of 30th Street, Rebel is one of Manhattan's few mega-clubs to retain the spirit of the underground. There's bottle service available for those who dig a VIP scene, but no velvet rope at the door for those who don't. One could call the ambiance a sort of "baroque punk," with its brocade wallpaper and crystal chandeliers. Rebel's labyrinthine layout winds through three floors, where cozy nooks and lounge spaces open up unexpectedly to spacious dance floors. All told, Rebel offers no fewer than three separate DJ booths and a stage for live music—on a busy night, every room has its own music playing and its own line at the bar.
