Sankofa Haus
Description
Founded by Bronx native DJ Spynfo in 2021, Sankofa Haus is a multi-use space
used for everything from weddings and bar mitzvahs to public yoga classes and
pop-up shops. It features three separate rooms, lit by expansive skylights and
bedecked with tropical plants. DJ Spynfo himself once worked on radio station Hot
97 and is an established local DJ and events coordinator, founding the venue to
spark creativity in the neighborhood: “Sankofa” is an African proverb originating in
Ghana meaning “go back and get.”
