The Levee

Description

There’s an art to running a good dive bar, and the Levee has it down pat. Stiff drinks, cheap prices, low lights, loud music and (here’s where it gets specific) free Utz cheese puffs by the bowlful. If you’ve got a heartier appetite—and you’re sure to develop one after a few rounds of drinks—the food options lean toward the low-brow but comfy. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cheese-smothered hot dogs and Frito pie (a three-ingredient recipe tops a stack of corn chips in chili and cheese) are all on the menu. So that drinking isn’t the sole activity, there are also board and arcade games, dart boards and a pool table.
