The Polynesian

Out of Business

Description

From former ZZ’s Clam Bar bartender Brian Miller comes this outsize example of the tiki bar trend, one he helped revive in NYC with past endeavors. Miller joined forces with upscale Major Food Group (The Lobster Club, Carbone) to evoke a flashy island oasis on the third floor of the Pod Hotel Times Square. Teakwood, bamboo and a sea-green color palette set the stage for colorful, island-inspired drinks, served from the lava-rock bar. The menu includes the rum-and-absinthe drink Damned to the Depths, boozy slushies like the Blue Hawaiian and dramatic large-format drinks, one of which is served in a giant clamshell.
