Turtles All the Way Down

Description

A Bed-Stuy classic, this small, dimly lit dive bar is best known for its two “racing” turtles, most nights happily basking in a fish tank at the back. Every first Sunday (4–8pm) of the month, the bar packs out for races between the two. It’s otherwise a typical Brooklyn joint; relatively inexpensive draft beer, basic snacks (cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, tamales), neon lights, shuffleboard, chilled backyard and live DJs Friday night. Weekday happy hours run from noon to 7pm.
