Photos from Pride Island

5/15/2018Updated 1/29/2019

Pride Island gathers thousands of queer folks and their allies for two days of music and fireworks on Hudson River Park’s Pier 97. They come to dance to big-name live acts and DJs (such as 2018 headliners Big Freedia and Kylie Minogue); celebrate Pride; and be themselves. We spoke to attendees at last year’s inaugural event about what NYC Pride means to them and what makes it the most unique event of its kind in the world. Click through our gallery to read their stories and see the faces behind Pride.
