Description
Alvin Ailey changed American dance with the groundbreaking 1958 founding of a company rooted in his African American heritage. Today, under the artistic leadership of Alicia Graf Mack and with a permanent home that is New York’s largest building dedicated to dance—The Joan Weill Center for Dance, the organization inspires and enlightens with the belief that "dance is for everybody." Ailey presents Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II performances; world-class training at The Ailey School; Arts In Education and Community Programs; and Ailey Extension dance and fitness classes for all with in-studio, online and private group offerings.
