Anthology Film Archives

Description

Since its opening in 1970, Anthology Film Archives has been instrumental in the preservation and exhibition of film and video. Originally founded with the goal of screening only essential films (rather than showing “disposable entertainment”), Anthology has shifted its focus to preserving film and video by independent, experimental and avant-garde artists. Today its two theaters are programmed with a wide variety of old and new works. Its Essential Cinema collection still exists and screens on a cycle throughout the year.
