Barretto Point Park

Description

This waterfront park is all about H2O-based activities on the East River, including kayaking, canoeing and fishing off the piers. In the summer of 2010, the floating barge (which has traveled to various spots over the years) was docked here, bringing in kids and adults from all five boroughs. Those who would rather stay dry have plenty else to do on the park’s gorgeous five acres, including picnicking, playing volleyball or baseball or enjoying a snack from the beloved Barretto Point Park mobile food truck. Special events include the Parks Summer Movie Series, where families cuddle up on blankets to watch flicks on a 24-foot screen.
