Hanover Square

Description

Although it's called Hanover Square, this park is actually a triangle. Named for the House of Hanover, the area retained its title even after the American Revolution, when many places were renamed to eliminate any trace of British colonialism. More recently, after September 11, the British Memorial Garden Trust built a garden in the square to honor the 67 British victims of the World Trade Center attacks. Another recent addition to the park is free Wi-Fi, which can be accessed from the British Memorial Garden.
