Hippo Playground
Description
The Hippo Playground exists inside of Riverside Park and is maintained by the Hippo Playground Project. This all-volunteer community program ensures that all of the playground equipment and facilities on New York's Upper West Side remain intact at all times, and is run by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Riverside Park Fund. Annual fundraising events at the playground include the Spring Fair, featuring pony rides, jumping castles, face painting and a petting zoo for kids.
