Metrograph

Description

This Lower East Side indie-film screening space boasts two theaters—one that seats 175 and includes a balcony, and a more intimate 50-seat arrangement. Metrograph is both modern and nostalgic, with the ability to screen digital and 35mm films in both of its spaces. Movies range from old Hollywood classics to modern-day indie docs. Metrograph’s calendar features a variety of film series and Q&A events with filmmakers, as well as a bookstore, bar and restaurant. Adding to the space’s nostalgia are its plush theater seats, made from reclaimed wood from Brooklyn’s old Domino Sugar Refinery.
