A man in a dark jacket stands outside a brightly lit comedy club at night, looking to the side with a thoughtful expression. Two other people are in the background near the entrance steps.
Three people sit at a table in a dimly lit restaurant with framed sketches on red walls, eating and drinking. Two women smile at someone standing, while a man looks toward the camera.

Olive Tree Cafe

Description

The Olive Tree Cafe has been hosting East Village locals and comedians for hummus and falafel since it opened in the year 1969. Situated above the legendary Comedy Cellar, where big-name comedians still pop up to work on their material,  it is regarded as one of the most important restaurants in the New York City comedy scene.  It was most recently featured in the film "Is this Thing On?" starring Will Arnett, Laura Dern and Bradley Cooper. (And while you might not see Will Arnett there, it's still hugely possible to spot a celebrity pre or post show.)
