Description

This not-for-profit organization provides year-round training and competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participants develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and share skills and friendship with their families, fellow athletes and the community. The statewide organization, based in Schenectady, maintains the largest program of its type in the United States, with more than 46,000 athletes and over 25,000 volunteers; New York City is home to a regional office.
