Tramps

Description

Terry Dunne opened the original Tramps at 125 E. 15th St. in 1975. A few years later, he began booking blues and soul acts with the guidance of the club's DJ/doorman, Jonathan Greenfield. Tramps moved to West 21st Street in the late '80s. Before the club closed its doors, Solomon Burke, Sam and Dave, Big Joe Turner, Rufus Thomas, Buddy Guy, Lightnin' Hopkins, Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton and Darlene Love all played the 200-capacity room.
