Walker Park

Description

This Staten Island park—named to honor local cricket club member Lieutenant Randolph Walker Jr., who died in World War I—is known for its rich history in the New York cricket and tennis worlds, including being the grounds of the Staten Island Cricket and Tennis Club in 1872. The park still hosts cricket games, as well as football, baseball, basketball and soccer matches on the various fields spread out on its 5.28 acres.
