Urban Civil Rights Museum Opening
Nov 14, 2026 - Ongoing
Descrição
Dedicated to the long and ongoing fight for civil rights, the brand-new Urban Civil Rights Museum in Harlem tracks the fight for justice from the 1500s through present day. The museum’s permanent exhibition, Moving History Forward, tells these stories through a less frequently explored northern US lens, and a rotating exhibit space will celebrate Harlem in its inaugural show. Although the Urban League Empowerment Center (ULEC) that houses the museum is a new building, the National Urban League’s history dates back to 1910, when it was founded to help Black Americans moving north during the Great Migration.
