Museum of the City of New York

1220 Fifth Ave. Manhattan

New York City is an enchanting place for so many all over the world, and the Museum of the City of New York captures that essence to a T. The Museum explores all things New York, from the actual buildings, apartments, parks and streets that make up its urban landscape to the cultures, people, sights, sounds and styles that give it its unique and unmistakable personality. A centerpiece of the experience is "Timescapes," a 22-minute multimedia history of New York City narrated by Stanley Tucci.

The Phantom of the Opera

Majestic Theatre 245 West 44th Street New York

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most famous creation, based on a popular French novel, is the longest-running musical on Broadway. Night after night, audiences are moved and awed by this ghost story with a heart, a darker version of Beauty and the Beast, in which a deformed musical genius gives voice lessons to a struggling singer, falls in love and attempts to force her to return his feelings. The passionate music, suspenseful plot twists and spooky ambience of the show leave a lasting impression.

Gallaghers Steakhouse

228 W. 52nd St. Manhattan

Back in the prohibition years, Gallaghers Steakhouse served as a speakeasy. Now, 95 years later, this signature New York establishment is a prime spot for a genuine steak. The restaurant’s meat-aging room is stocked with USDA Prime dry-aged beef, which is sure to bring a tear to the eye of any carnivore. The dinner menu features chicken, seafood and even a veggie plate, but the steak is where it’s at.
