Fundada em 1994 por Sarah East Johnson, esta trupe de dança acrobática feminista desenvolve e realiza obras artísticas que combinam dança, teatro e acrobacias. LAVA já se apresentou em Nova York em locais como PS 122, Dance Theater Workshop e Symphony Space, e recebeu vários prêmios, incluindo um OBIE em 2000. A trupe também oferece aulas em seu estilo de dança único.
