Nigerian-born Sade Tyler started her Harlem store decades ago, aiming to specifically cater to women of color with her cosmetics line. The brand's line of makeup and skin-care products—cleansers, moisturizers and much more—not only benefits its customers and community; it also provides work and income for women in Tyler's home country, where a cooperative she set up produces some of the items for sale.
