Barnyard

Out of Business

Description

This little takeout shop and high-end grocer has a couple of chairs and a table out front if you can't stand waiting to eat your tempting sandwich, salad or soup elsewhere. Cheeses (from Cowgirl Creamery and Neal's Yard Dairy), charcuterie (prosciutto, mortadella, Serrano ham), breads and various specialty items are so carefully curated here it's obviously a labor of love, in this case by Beatriz and Darrin Arremony. The couple started out with Brix Wine Shop around the corner, then opened Barnyard in 2008, assembling foods that would go well with wine. It's the ultimate pit stop for a picnic basket. Homemade fruit drinks are also awesome, from strawberry lemonade to sweet-tart watermelon juice.
