Barrio Chino

Description

There’s no actual signage marking the spot at Barrio Chino, but you’ll know you’ve arrived by the crowd of people filling every seat at the bar and available table (and not infrequently, waiting outside). The popularity of this lower Lower East Side—meaning south of Delancey—restaurant can be chalked up to the deliciousness of its food, which is standard Tex-Mex on the menu, but something far more extraordinary on the plate. Don’t let the hipster-y decor fool you: the prices are reasonable, and you can leave full for a less-than-expected tab. Their cocktail selection is also noteworthy, not least of all because most drinks are infused with fruit juices made fresh daily.
