Ben's Best

Out of Business

Description

Since 1945, the family-run Ben's has flourished, lovingly making their own pastrami, among other delicacies. The dark, spicy, juicy meat is absolute perfection on fresh-baked rye bread. The dining room is a warm, easygoing place to enjoy matzo ball chicken soup, potato pancakes, corned beef and one of the best frankfurters in the City. Jay Parker, son of the eponymous Ben, is the gregarious master of ceremonies, setting the tone for a fun experience. The longtime staff seems to really care about the customers. And if you get addicted to anything, they'll air-freight food to you anywhere in the country.
