Breads Bakery

Description

The name Breads doesn't tell the whole story, though the breads here are outstanding. This Union Square-area bakery and café has the best chocolate babka and rugelach in the City, plus delicate butter pecan cookies, dreamy croissants, cheese straws, sandwiches, quiche, salads and esoteric coffee drinks. Master baker Uri Scheft was born in Israel to Danish parents and made his reputation in Tel Aviv before being recruited here by owner Gadi Peleg. For those who would rather not nosh on the run there are a few tables.
