Bun-Ker Vietnamese

Out of Business

Description

Looking for an outer-borough eating adventure? Bun-Ker Vietnamese in Ridgewood is good fun, serving beautifully executed food by a chef with Vietnamese origins who trained at Eleven Madison Park. Jimmy Tu is his name, and there's nothing not to love about his crisp crab spring rolls, luscious seafood crepe with bacon, grilled lemongrass heritage pork loin with fried egg and wonderful banh mi sandwiches. To get here without a car requires some studying of Google maps to figure out the bus line or nine-block walk from the Jefferson stop on the L train. Once you arrive, you’ll find a warm welcome from a laidback crew that is genuinely excited about the food the restaurant’s serving. Some might bill it as Vietnamese street food, but it's on a much higher level. Prices are reasonable for the quality, plus it's BYOB. Come prepared since it's hard to locate liquor stores or bodegas in the area.
