Nourishing grain bowls at Charley St., an all-day cafeteria in Nolita, include “Tahini Time” and “Field of Mushroom.” Leafy plants, patio chairs and streaks of sunlight give the handsome space an indoor-outdoor garden feel. Aussie chef Dan Churchill is telegenic, as are his preparations: toast (sourdough or gluten-free) topped with avocado, walnut miso, pickled tomato and onion. The mix-and-match plant-based menu is not wholly vegetarian; proteins include house-cured salmon and poached chicken.
