Cherry

Out of Business

Description

Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. A joint venture by restaurateurs Jonathan Morr (BondSt, Republic) and Eugene Morimoto, Cherry brings French-inspired Japanese fare to the edge of New York's Chelsea neighborhood. Opened in January 2013, Cherry's subterranean, speakeasy-esque space was designed by Studio Gaia and features dark polished woods, lush red velvet and ornate sconces, evoking the feel of mid-century Paris. Cherry’s menu presents innovative Japanese cuisine and sushi executed using French technique. The menu is augmented by an approachable yet exciting array of sakes curated by sake sommelier Chris Johnson.
