Chikarashi Isso
Description
Japanese kappo cuisine (translated as “to cut and cook” and leaving much to the chef’s discretion) offers an innovative way to dine at Chikarashi Isso, an intimate restaurant in Lower Manhattan. Michael Jong Lim’s seasonal tasting menu is a fluid progression of sublime bites of yellowtail, wagyu beef with wasabi crème, tempura, uni risotto and skewered chicken. It’s also possible to go the à la carte route; in that case, get veal cheek won tons, chicken karaage and fugu (blowfish) tempura.
