De Maria

The minimalist American artist Walter De Maria was the inspiration behind Nolita’s De Maria, an all-day cafe beckoning creative types and international clothes horses. Everybody seems to have an enviable glow from lives lived well, including healthful eating. At breakfast there’s chili-turmeric bone broth and sprouted grain porridge with miso butter. A highlight at lunch is the tasty and nourishing fire dragon bowl: a turmeric-poached egg crowning a nutty, spicy mix of heirloom beans, grains, avocado and a smear of tarragon tahini. The omnivorous will enjoy the presence of lovely fish and meat preparations, plus cocktails.
