Early lives up to its name, open at 7am (on weekdays) for breakfast sandwiches and strong cups of coffee from Toby's Estate, a Brooklyn roaster. Fillings range from smoked salmon, hard-boiled eggs, cucumber and lemon-dill mayo to bacon, egg and cheddar on brioche. At lunch look for their signature "zappie," a hollowed-out baguette stuffed with mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic, fontina and truffle oil, plus meaty wonders like 12-hour pulled pork and pepper-crusted top round beef with gruyere.
