The grandma slice (also known as a "nonna slice") is a Long Island invention that has made some inroads into New York City in the last decade. Essentially a thin-crust Sicilian, it's also defined by its thick, cooked-down, garlicky sauce—and often by the fact that said sauce goes on last, in visually pleasing diagonal stripes.
