Fornino Park Slope

Out of Business

Description

This big, family-friendly Italian restaurant specializes in thin, grilled pizza, a wide array of antipasti and pasta dishes. Chef/owner Michael Ayoub's original Fornino in Williamsburg was such a hit that this second, larger branch hit the ground running. The space is meant to evoke 1930s Brooklyn, detailed in dark mahogany wood, distressed wooden floors and tabletops designed with a decoupage of vintage newspapers. Ayoub's glassblowing talents are also on display with sculptures and lighting fixtures. An adjoining shop sells his house-made sauces and fresh pasta.
