Description
Naming a restaurant after a poisonous plant is a daring move, and Diego Moya (ex-Casa Mono) certainly takes chances at Hemlock. Menu descriptions at the windowed Lower East Side nook are brief: “whey-braised radishes,” for instance, and “striped bass, pea shoots and charred peas.” Rest assured, it’s all delicious. Highlights include mussels with shaved turnips and sweet cream ice cream with malted milk powder. The seasonal, small-plates menu changes frequently.
