Il Divo
Description
This Upper East Side jewel box features elegant Italian cuisine and polished service. Co-owners Antonio Sinesi and Claudio Della Monica oversee the formal dining room whose striped wallpaper is chockablock with quirky art and images of silent film star Rudolph Valentino. The restaurant is an offshoot of the popular Al Valentino in Milan, also dedicated to the Italian icon. A sophisticated set favoring pocket squares and knotted silk scarves tuck into gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese sauce and poached salmon over vegetable caponata. Their small bar is a lovely stop for a Negroni.
