Island Salad

Out of Business

Description

Beloved for its super-fresh offerings, this Caribbean-themed East Harlem hotspot specializes in made-to-order salads, pressed sandwiches, wraps and specialty sodas and drinks, including organic coffee. Opened by Milo Meed (a Harlem resident who says he was tired of going all the way to 96th Street to get a salad) in December 2009, one of the key attractions is Island Salad's unique beverage bar, which features Island Made Black Cherry Soda, Ginger Pomegranate Fizz, Righteous Root Beer (sparkling water, espresso syrup, vanilla syrup and anise) and Carnival Apple Soda. The drinks are so refreshing and filling, you may not even need to eat.
