Description
Jolie Cantina, a French-Mexican hybrid, does its best to honor both cultures, but it's really more Mexican. Chips and salsa are distributed at the bar, and there are budget-friendly taco and drink combos at happy hour. That said, you will find classic French onion soup, escargot and steak tartare. Chef Eliseo Gonzaga deftly combines the two cuisines, offering duck confit enchiladas and bouillabaisse with spicy tomato-achiote broth and habanero aioli. The colorful corner spot has a fun vibe and sidewalk seating. Inside, meanwhile, lights are kept seductively dim at all times, meaning it's a good place for hangover brunches.
