Joseph Leonard

Description

More of a bar than a restaurant—albeit one serving very good food—Joseph Leonard is a quintessential neighborhood hangout. Barn wood tables, flea market furnishings and a pressed-tin ceiling bolster the easygoing vibe. Dinner features a range of fish (salt cod brandade) and shellfish (oysters, chilled lobster tails and claws), New York strip steak with foie gras and shoestring potatoes as well as roast chicken for two. Cocktails, draft beer and a snappy wine list with not-bad prices add to the cheer. Owner Gabriel Stulman named the place after his two grandfathers and mastered the art of cultivating faithful regulars at hotspots like The Little Owl and Market Table.
