Lenny's Pizza

Out of Business

Description

Lenny's isn't shy about advertising its Saturday Night Fever connection, as the place where John Travolta's character stops for two slices in the movie's opening sequence. Photos from the film are slathered all over the Lenny's website and on the walls inside the pizzeria. Yet no one coming through pays much attention. Everyone's here for the pizza, which is quite good—and helps explain why Lenny's has been around since 1953. For decades, Bensonhurst was largely populated by Italian immigrants, and they're still here, but Asians and Latinos have added ethnic diversity. If you remember the movie, though, the neighborhood doesn't look much different, with busy sidewalks and the subway still rumbling overhead.
