Lombardi’s Pizza
Description
New York is nothing without its pizza, and pizza in New York started at Lombardi’s. This NoLIta shop opened in 1905 to become the first pizzeria in America. Many of New York’s other pizza greats (the namesakes behind both John’s and Patsy’s, among others) studied under Lombardi. Today, Lombardi’s is one of the few coal-oven pizzerias left in the City. The crust is crispy, toppings are mouthwatering (especially on the clam pie) and the restaurant is both charming and historical.
