Lowerline
Description
Lowerline is a slender slip of a place featuring freshly shucked oysters, massive po’boys, fine beer and wine. There are a few small tables up front; good timing figures into being able to snag one of the stools at the marble bar. Interact with chef John Verlander, a Louisianan, and his friendly team who supply extra napkins for the messily delicious roast beef po’boy with “debris” gravy, New Orleans–speak for beefy braising liquid. There’s also classic gumbo and crawfish étouffée.
