Description

A young law school student originally from Montreal, Noah Bernamoff decided to go on leave from Brooklyn Law School and open a Jewish deli instead, inspired by the famous Schwartz's back home. He and his crew hand-slice smoked meat behind the counter, building overflowing sandwiches at a fair price. Available all day (or until there are no more) are glossy, slightly sweet bagels flown in from Montreal, topped with cream cheese, salami scrambled with onions and peppers or house-cured salmon or sable. The whitewashed space is a fraction of the size of Katz's Delicatessen and is generally packed from the time it opens. So many Manhattanites made the pilgrimage to Bernamoff's Brooklyn deli that he and his partners decided to come to them, opening Mile End Sandwich in NoHo. Mile End tends to run out of meat early on, so it's best to check for updates on its Twitter page before you go.
