A wooden table set with assorted dishes, including sushi, small plates of appetizers, a bowl of greens, a cocktail, and water. Two people are using chopsticks to pick up food. Sunlight streams across the scene.
Four dumplings served in a black bowl, resting in a creamy green sauce, garnished with grated cheese and two fresh green leaves, on a wooden surface.
A cozy, sunlit café with wooden tables and chairs, set with glasses and napkins, next to large windows overlooking a city street and a small outdoor patio area.

Description

Mokyo is a cozy nook in the East Village. The name is a playful way of saying "Thursday" in Korean ("mok" is the abbreviation "Thurs."), and Mokyo is the sister restaurant to Thursday Kitchen from chef Kyungmin "Kay" Hyun. Mokyo offers an array of Asian-inspired cuisine that blend flavors from Chef Kay’s childhood and travels across Spain and South America. Understanding the inevitable loss to her grandma and mom’s traditional dishes, Chef Kay has found a perfect balance of Asian twists and dishes from her travels to ignite nostalgic flavors yet something unfamiliar and pleasant with an Asian flair.
