Description

This cozy, windowed cafe is the flagship location of Ovenly, a masterful bakery that supplies fabulous desserts to several retailers and creates eye-popping, custom-made wedding cakes. Tantalizing sweets in the display case include honey blondies, red velvet cupcakes and gluten-free pistachio-agave cookies. On the savory side are blue cheese-pecan scones and sacks of Old Salties, peanuts roasted in bacon fat and tossed with Old Bay and Worcestershire sauce. It's a quiet, pleasant place to sit and have a cup of Stumptown coffee or enjoy the exotic tea of the month. Founders Erin Patinkin and Agatha Kulaga are the authors of Ovenly: Sweet and Salty Recipes from New York's Most Creative Bakery, which you may feel compelled to buy on your way out.
